Protection of commercial interests of a Persian merchant by the Russian authorities on the eastern coast of the Caspian sea in the first half of the nineteenth century

The article discusses and analyzes the issues related to the trade of the Persian merchants on the Eastern coast of the Caspian sea in the first half of the nineteenth century. Turkmen tribes populated coastal areas needed in industrial goods, and Russia in the raw materials that arrived from there across the Caspian sea through Astrakhan to Central Russia. A leading role in this trade played the Persian merchants, in a number of economic and political reasons. But since the beginning of the nineteenth century raised the issue of security of Maritime trade, which otherwise had to stop. This function was undertaken by the Russian government. On the basis of unpublished information and insights of the scientific literature prior years, we attempted to cover the alleged problem.
