Integration of innovative project-based technologies and «portfolio» technology as a factor for forming professional foreign language competence of the future specialist (based on architectural portfolio)

The paper is concerned with the problem of integrating innovative educational technologies, including project-based technologies, critical thinking development technologies and portfolio technology, into the formation of foreign language professional competence among students of construction and architectural specialities. Basic aspects of profession-oriented foreign language training are determined while emphasizing the importance of discursive and strategic aspects for the implementation of professional communication. The pedagogical potential of business games in development of reading and comprehension skills in terms of business communication is revealed on the basis of specific articles and situations, initiated by profession-based problems resulting from the formation of professionally oriented language portfolio of students. The positive outcome of experimental research is demonstrated through application of business games in the process of integrating educational technologies.
