The article is devoted to the analysis of digitalization and innovative development of enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex in the context of external constraints. The relevance of the study is determined by the increasing sanctions pressure and the growing demands on the sustainability of high-tech industries. The scientific novelty is due to an attempt to systematize the factors constraining the digital transformation of the defense industry, taking into account institutional, personnel and technological constraints. The paper considers key barriers to digitalization, information security issues and conditions for sustainable innovative development of the industry, the results can be used in the field of industrial policy and innovation management.
