PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF DYSFUNCTIONAL AND DESTRUCTIVE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

Kuznetsov Alexey Evgenievich  (Postgraduate Student, Moscow City Pedagogical University )

This article analyzes the key psychological characteristics of dysfunctional and destructive family relationships that distort the formation of adequate parenting concepts in adolescents. Communication impairments (double messages, incongruence), structural distortions (blurred boundaries, rigid hierarchy), and specific interaction patterns, such as "coercive family processes" and parental ambivalence, are examined. It is shown that chronic family dysfunction, extending beyond direct violence, creates an environment of psychological insecurity that hinders healthy development. This leads to the formation of persistent maladaptive interpersonal schemas in adolescents, which become an internal working model for future parenting. It is concluded that targeted psychological work is necessary to recognize and correct these patterns in order to interrupt their transgenerational transmission.

Keywords:developmental psychology, family relationships, adolescents, parenting, parental attitudes
