Orofacial pain often causes patients to go to the dentist because of endodontic problems. However, many are afraid of pain during the procedures. With the development of pain management strategies, treatment has become more effective. The study of the source of pain and an accurate diagnosis are the basis for successful treatment. Reducing pain before, during and after procedures helps prevent inflammation and infection. The article discusses scientifically based methods of pain management and future directions in the treatment of orofacial pain.
