In this paper it is shown that mini-CHP based cogeneration technology in autonomous electro- and heat-supply allows to signifi cantly increase fuel usage effi ciency. Key technical characteristics of mini-CHPs of different technological bases are given. It is shown that most mini-CHPs are realized using gas reciprocating units. Algorithm for estimation of upper and lower boundaries of capital expenditures for building mini-CHP payback period is proposed.
