The rope corrosion of hoisting equipment and the methods of protection against it

The influence of the corrosive media on the lifting machine is a very big threat to the industrial safety of hazardous production facilities. A particularly big problem is corrosion of rope lifting equipment, which can lead to very large consequences. The destruction of the ropes by corrosion can lead to serious loss of life and huge economic losses. This article is devoted to the issue of the rope corrosion of hoisting machines. The main ways to protect ropes against such corrosion were analyzed. It should be noted that methods of rope corrosion protection still far from perfect. Development of new methods of protection against this type of corrosion is an important problem that must be solved in the nearest future.
