The history of the gyroscope and its main properties

In this article, the author presents an examination of the history of the gyroscope and its basic properties. The author notes that, having made a long way from the usual toys to complex devices, called gyro, the gyroscope has deservedly become one of the outstanding achievements of modern technology. Through such devices are made blind flight and kept for the specified direction of the ships in the open sea. The use of the gyroscopic effect of the rotating rotor makes it possible to reduce pitching of the vessel in the waves and vibrations of the car when driving over a rough road. The same gyroscopic effect provides a stable motion of bicycles and motorcycles. The application of the properties of the spinning-top is allowed to create a monorail railroad, a two-wheeled vehicle and many other interesting machines. According to the results of the conducted research the author notes that the gyro, in spite of its apparent simplicity and clarity is still much to be learned the object of study of physics and theoretical mechanics. But despite all this, one area of knowledge which we already possess, adequately satisfies human needs in everyday life and in many sectors of the economy. The uncertainty of knowledge and information about gyroscopic phenomena and processes gives optimistic expectations and strong confidence in further development and solving the many problems of our immense world.
