A characteristic feature of laparoscopic operations on the esophageal-gastric junction is the combination of pneumoperitoneum and pneumomediastinum, which exerts a pathophysiological effect on the biomechanics of respiration. Changes in the parameters of respiration biomechanics (pulse oximetry, aerodynamic resistance of the airways, compliance, carbon dioxide content in the exhaled air, partial pressure of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the arterial blood) are described in the article, a comparative analysis of these changes depending on the type of general anesthesia was made.

Keywords:cardiac achalasia, hernia of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm, respiratory biomechanics, pneumoperitoneum, pneumomediastinum.
