Aiming at finding a minimally invasive method of treating inguinal hernias, the following experimental study has been conducted, whereby; the different properties of the synthetic material, consisting of a copolymer of polyacryl-amide coupled with Putrescine have been investigated. This article comprises of the parts of the experiment based on the physical, chemical and mechanical properties of the implant, which could provide evidence for it to be used as an intracorporeally-polymerising implant.

Keywords:Polymer, copolymer, hydrogels, intracorporeally-polymerising implant, inguinal hernia, injection-based methods of treating hernias, reconstructive surgery, plastic surgery.
