Insurance in Russia XIX-th century: the level of the issue knowledge

The article considers the issue of the knowledge degree of insurance history in the Russian Empire XIX-early XX centuries. The analysis of the major works on this subject by periods: pre-revolutionary editions, literature of the Soviet time and current research. The necessity of further comprehensive study of the insurance business in the economic system and economic relations.
