Concept rule of law in pre-revolutionary Russian jurisprudence

This article summarizes the different views of scientists on the pre-revolutionary rule of law, its concept, criteria, delimitation of related state-legal concepts and other aspects, which is shown by the example of a deep original interpretation of domestic legal science in this category. The analysis of works of pre-revolutionary Russian scientists showed a trend in pre-revolutionary understanding the rule of law - the desire for integrated analysis, the lack of construction of the concept of the rule of law in the absolute, a kind of "cult" the rule of law, which is often characteristic of the modern legal science. The concept of criteria for the rule of law. Obtained characteristic of the whole of pre-revolutionary Russia the concept of criteria for the rule of law: priority to ethical criteria of social and non-governmental regulators in building a legal state.
