Infant mortality is an indicator of the social and economic well-being of society and a criterion for assessing the effectiveness of reproductive and demographic development. Ensuring the reduction of infant and child mortality was identified as one of the objectives of the strategy for protecting the health of the mother and child in the context of socio-economic reforms in the Russian Federation. Since the causes of death in children of the first year of life are mainly associated with the pathology of the perinatal period, we hope that the introduction of the Perinatal Center into the RI will allow to reduce the level of infant mortality and positively affect the natural growth of the population. This study analyzes the medical and demographic situation in the Republic of Ingushetia for the period 2009-2013.
