The article considers some features that demonstrate that experts identify the categories of values enshrined in the Constitution of France. According to experts, it is possible to note "priority values" - values for the sake of which other values can be limited, in particular, safety of a society and the rights of other persons, and also other values, among which it is possible to list the following: the property right, family protection, the right on health protection, the right to social security, equal access to education.
The different nature of constitutional provisions affects the ways in which they affect public relations. Norms of the Constitution can accordingly be applied directly or by issuing other legal acts establishing the procedure for the application of constitutional norms. According to Art. 2 of the French Constitution of 1958, the motto of the Republic is "Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood", and its principle is the rule of the people, the people and for the people.
If the former are limited to issues of statehood and provisions on the basic personal and political rights of citizens, the latter, undoubtedly, regulate certain aspects of the social order and contain provisions on the social and economic rights of man and citizen.
