The article presents the results of the modern Russian investment portfolio management practice investigation. The author notes the peculiarities of the methods of forming and managing the investment portfolio in the Russian realities, as well as highlights the practical problems faced by financial intermediaries - professional intermediators at the security market. The recommended approaches to the investment strategy transformation and tactics of investment management helps to determine the further vector of the national stock market development and to balance the Russian economy.
