Presented in the article theoretical and methodological research of such category as "innovative competence" allowed forming the main components and components for the development of innovative potential of industrial enterprises. The presence of a key innovation competence and, consequently, a competitive advantage will be able to bring the company to the market leaders and make it quite stable with fierce competition. Innovative competencies of the enterprise are an integral part of its strategic assets, which reflects a complex combination of collective knowledge, experience and skills of the enterprise, which together with the unique technology provides an opportunity to create competitive advantages, maintain competitiveness and ensure the unique difference of the enterprise in a certain market environment.
