The article deals with the theoretical aspects of the development of the labor potential of the enterprise's employees, identifies the factors that influence this process and trends observed in the modern Russian economy. Separate attention is paid to the analysis of the impact on the labor potential of workers from the side of the following factors: scientific and technical, organizational-economic, socio-economic and cultural. Attention is focused on the problems of their interaction, as each group of factors can have some influence on the development of the labor potential of the employee of the enterprise. The character of the influence of the abovementioned factors of development of labor potential and under different economic systems is considered: the command-administrative and market model of the economy. At the end of the article, the author concludes that previous events, among which Russia's economic stagnation is the reason for the growing demand for quality of labor resources, makes the issue of development of labor potential acute for commercial activities of enterprises.
