Development of the Russian criminal law on responsibility for knowingly false reort on an act of terrorism (article 207 of the criminal code)

The article analyzes the development of the Russian criminal law on the responsibility for knowingly false report on the act of terrorism since the establishment of responsibility for this type of crime in the modern criminal law of Russia in 1994 to the present day. The author concludes that this type of crime occupies a special place among the crimes of a terrorist nature, as it is an act of psychological terror. In addition, these crimes also disorganize the normal rhythm of society, the work of state structures. On the basis of the analysis the author comes to the conclusion that the study of criminal law for knowingly false report on the act of terrorism (article 207 of the criminal code) in Russia in its retrospect, shows that throughout its history the criminal law has been evolutionarily modernized.
