Trends and prospects in payment cards world market development

The article analyzes the dynamics of the world market of payment cards, identifies trends and prospects of its development. The authors have revealed that the expansion of the global payment card market is conditioned by the development of mobile technologies and changing consumer behavior. In the article considerable attention is paid to the functioning of regional markets in modern payment system. In modern conditions the regional peculiarities of functioning and regulation of payment card systems should be considered for improvement of the national system of payment cards in Russia.
