The role of the state in development of scientific-technical progress (experience of the USA and Russia)

The article attempts to conduct a comparative analysis of the state function in two key interrelated areas of the NTP: research and the process of creating innovations in the economy. With this aim, the article discusses: the nature of economic development and scientific and technical progress, principles of the state policy in the field of scientific and technical progress, forms and methods of state influence on the NTP, the state policy in the field of innovation.
