Improving forest legislation of Russia for the purpose of improving the economic stability of forest management

The article talks about the problems of forest legislation that impede the economic sustainability of forest management and the effective development of the entire forest sector. The main problems were considered: instability of the legal regulation of forest relations, inconsistency of the division of powers to use and manage forests to a form of ownership of forests, replacement of the concept of "forest plot" by land, which removes it from property relations as an independent object, destruction of the state forest inventory system, replacement of a permitting procedure for forest use with a declarative one, lack of coordination of the current Forestry Code with the norms of international law. As a solution to the problems mentioned above, measures have been proposed to improve forest legislation, which will create conditions that ensure sustainable forest management and will contribute to the efficient use of Russian forests, increasing their ecological and resource potential.
