George Kennan and his world-known book “Siberia and link” about the journey of the American journalist in the linking reliable Siberia (1885–1886)

The article analyzes the activities of the famous American journalist George Kennan, who visited as a traveler in the years 1885-1886. Tsarist Russia. The materials on his trip to Siberia, which formed the basis of the book “Siberia and the Link”, which later received worldwide fame, are summarized. The role and significance of his work written to transform American society’s understanding of the real situation in autocratic Russia at the end of the 19th century was studied. in relation to the Russian intelligentsia, which became the head of the revolutionary-liberation movement, and was serving a punishment in the form of hard labor and exile in Siberia for its advanced ideas.
