Positivist approach to understanding the principles of law

This article is devoted to the study of the essence of the principles of Russian law through the positivist research method of legal categories. On the basis of the analysis of the history of the formation of positivism, it is concluded that it is impossible to apply this method completely to the principles of Russian law. Not all principles of law can be settled formally, because the list of them is quite extensive and some of them lay in the field of the people's legal awareness, in the view of the majority of people about the ideal law. And the above-mentioned is not recorded in writing.
