Educational and production cluster: the essence and role in the economy

Various interpretations of the concepts “educational cluster”, “scientific (or research) cluster”, “educational and production cluster” are analyzed. The definition is clarified and the distinctive characteristics of the educational and production cluster are highlighted. The prerequisites for the development of educational and industrial clusters were determined and their presence in Russia was evaluated. The most significant problems in the development of educational and industrial clusters in Russia are identified.
