The emergence and development of house arrest as a preventive measure in Russian criminal proceedings

The article analyzes the evolution of legal regulation of a preventive measure in the form of house arrest from the beginning of its generation - the Code of Laws of the Russian Empire in 1832 to the current state of legal regulation the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, it considers the historical experience of applying and reforming this Law Institute, the practice of applying this preventive measure use all positive at the current time. In addition, the article draws attention to the need to further improvement of regulation of the procedure for electing this preventive measure, the execution of a court decision on the choice of house arrest, as well as monitoring the implementation of prohibitions imposed by the court on the suspect or accused in order to increase the effectiveness of this preventive measure.
