The article discusses the problematic issues of legal regulation of the organization of labor of prisoners sentenced to imprisonment. The problems associated with the organization of labor are analyzed, the possibility of motivation and the organization of the effective use of labor resources in the person of prisoners in the penal system in modern Russia is assessed.
