The article deals with issues related to the evaluation of the effectiveness of investment portfolios, defines the indicators for evaluating the management of investment portfolios of various types. The characteristic features of the formation of various types of investment portfolios are considered and as a result of the work, a method for evaluating the investment portfolio of control participation is proposed. The main practical rule of financial investments is defined: to increase the reliability of the effect of financial investments in risky securities, it is advisable to make investments not in one type of security, but in the greatest possible variety of securities
