In 2019-2020, the world economy experienced a period of force majeure of remote employment, which has become unprecedented in its scale for modern times. The possibilities of remote work, revealed by new information technologies, have until recently been carefully implemented even in advanced technology companies, whose activities are concentrated around data analysis and processing. The sudden push in the development of remote work has a significant reform potential not only for countries that have experienced the model of mass remote employment, but also forms new contours of the global labor market: the prerequisites for foreign outsourcing of labor in a wide range of professions are created. At the same time, new trends are becoming additional challenges for the legal regulation of labor relations at the level of states and international organizations (the ILO and the UN).
