The main characteristics and geographical structure of the world market of the high technologies at the current stage of the economic development

The article discusses the main trends in the world market of high-tech and science-intensive goods and services. The author conducts a comparative analysis of the productivity of high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries indicated by the value added. The sectoral approach to determining the level of manufacturability of industries is based on the methodology of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC, Rev. 4). The author concluded that the leadership in the high-tech and medium-tech industries production is transferring to the countries of Asia, while countries of the North America and Western Europe are losing their positions.
