Clustering and innovation as a mechanism for ensuring the development of the regional economy (on the example of the Belgorod region)

The article discusses the features of clustering and innovation processes aimed at the development of the regional economy. To create conditions for the development of entrepreneurial innovations, it is necessary to involve both regional authorities to support small and medium-sized businesses, and to create conditions for the creation and implementation of innovations through various financial funds and programs. Regional authorities promote the institutional development of clusters and the establishment of effective information interaction between participants; support of small businesses in the scientific and technical sphere and implementation of scientific and innovative projects to improve the efficiency of socio-economic development of the region. As examples of regional business support programs, both existing and new, we consider the features of various financial programs that have been implemented in the Belgorod region since 2007.
