Theoretical and legal characteristics of the international protection of copyrights and related rights

The article is devoted to the analysis of national and international legal issues related to the protection of copyrights and related rights. The essence and significance of the international legal protection of copyrights and related rights lies in the recognition of universal international acts as supranational sources that guarantee the subjects a minimum level of protection of their legal rights on the territory of foreign states. The main importance of international protection is to overcome the "territoriality" of copyright and related rights and their free exercise at the transboundary level. International legislation most fully and comprehensively covers the sphere of copyrights, and the rights of subjects of related rights are constantly in need of updated regulation and the adoption of new international legal acts.
