The solution to the existing problem is possible by properly assessing and identifying the causes. For this reason, the article examines the measurement criteria that allow us to assess food security as a global problem. The indicators were analyzed against the background of different approaches to the concept of food security. As a result, possible directions have been identified to achieve sustainable and sustainable development in ensuring food security.
