Criminological characteristics of the personality of persons who commit crimes of a terrorist nature on transport

The record growth of terrorist acts on transport, which Russia faced in 2000-2021, forced the government to take decisive action to counter terrorism. Every year, terrorists have fewer and fewer chances to carry out their attacks, however, this circumstance should not create the illusion that terrorism has been completely defeated. In order to achieve the goals of their existence, terrorist organizations are constantly developing new means and methods of committing actions aimed at intimidating the State and society while simultaneously spreading radical ideology among their potential members. This article attempts to form a holistic view of the criminological characteristics of persons committing terrorist crimes in transport, which can greatly assist in the development and refinement of the strategy of countering terrorism in Russia.
