The article is devoted to the study of the experience of the ecological function of the state in a number of European countries.
In the constitutions of most European countries, the main obligations and powers in relation to environmental protection are provided by the state. A favorable ecological environment is considered the most important value of a person and society. Environmental protection is entrusted to the state, which primarily performs an ecological function.
The history of development from nature management to nature protection activity leads to an increase in the importance of the ecological function of the state. It should also be noted that it is important to determine the environmental competence at all levels of the population, especially in federal and confederal states, society and government in the field of natural resource management to protect environmental safety and the well-being of citizens.
Today, many developed countries of the world face a complex interdisciplinary problem of ecology, as the most important factor determining the quality of life of the population. Environmental protection is the greatest concern of mankind. The current ecological situation threatens to become catastrophic for all mankind, and the main universal slogan at the beginning of the 21st century should have been the preservation of health and life on the planet.
