The article discusses issues related to the planning of the initial stage of the investigation of thefts committed on beaches, taking into account typical investigative situations. The analysis of the concept of an investigative situation, a forensic version is carried out, the importance of situational and versioned approaches in the investigation of crimes is determined. The main typical versions about the identity of the criminal and his whereabouts are identified, the main typical investigative situations are highlighted. For each investigative situation, the main tasks of the investigation, standard versions, main investigative actions, operational search and other measures are defined.
