Features of abrupt (rapid) adaptation to virtual teamwork during COVID-19

Unforeseen circumstances (COVID-19) have forced organizations to instantly transform collaborative teams into virtual ones. The aim of the study was to gain insight into success factors for rapidly formed virtual teams during an unforeseen event. Trust, technology challenge fit, and communication have been found to be significantly related to perceived team performance. The results show that a momentary adjustment in work could lead to a new phase associated with command cycle episodes.
