Genesis and regulation of cryptocurrency circulation in the monetary system of developed countries in modern conditions

The purpose of this article is to analyze the essence, identify the role of cryptocurrencies in monetary circulation and determine the prospects of their use. The article is built on the following logical chain: from finding out the reasons for the genesis and definition of the essence of cryptocurrencies as digital assets, through the study of the characteristics of their most common types to the country specifics of regulation of cryptocurrencies. The study used various methods, namely methods of theoretical generalization and comparison, systematic and comprehensive approach in order to develop the main directions of improving the mechanism of application of cryptocurrencies.
