The place and role of digital technologies in the civil process

The digital transformation of legal proceedings is a natural phenomenon that best meets the new challenges of the time. The digital transition of the judicial system was emphasized long before the events related to coronavirus infection: within the framework of Presidential Decrees, Concepts of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation, etc. At the same time, the unfavorable epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19 only emphasized the importance of the already begun digital transformation of the civil process, setting the legislator and law enforcement officer the urgent tasks of adapting domestic legal proceedings to the restrictions imposed by quarantine measures. The purpose of this article is to determine how the development of electronic technologies in civil justice affects the legal status of participants in civil and arbitrazh proceedings.
