Assessment of tourism potential in the North Caucasus

This article discusses the state of the tourism industry, the development of mountain tourism. Data on the number of visits to mountain peaks around the world are provided. Due to its magnificent landscapes, diverse terrain, some famous mountain peaks have become an integral part of tourist routes and expeditions for mountaineering, routes, sightseeing tours, leisure and adventure. The assessment of tourism potential is inevitably influenced by many aspects of climate change, both positive and negative, which also has an impact on the environment. The list of factors used in this study includes the regional saturation of the scenic area, the length of typical tourist routes, location, traffic conditions in the scenic area, as well as socio-economic and tourist data of the object. As a result, an integral indicator of the assessment of tourist potential is formed.
