The powers of the lawyer to ensure the rights of the client at the stage of initiation of a criminal case

This article focuses on the analysis of the stage of initiation of a criminal case as one of the key stages of the criminal process and the role of the lawyer to ensure the rights of the defendant at this stage of criminal proceedings. The study is subject to the legal essence, the purpose of the stage of initiation of a criminal case; verification of a crime report as an independent institution; the powers of a lawyer at the initial stage of the criminal process; the differential nature of the exercise of the right to use the services of a lawyer at the stage of verification of a crime report; the figure of the person against whom the crime report is being checked. Through this article, the author suggests a way to make up for the omissions of the legislator, which will contribute to the genuine protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the person against whom the crime report is being checked, including serving as a guarantor of the right to protection in its fullest manifestation.
