Methodological principles for the study of the phenomenon of social expectation

Kim Ivan Sergeevich  (Postgraduate student, Irkutsk State University)

The article discusses the understanding and implementation of the practice of social expectation, which took place for quite a long time and finally ended at the beginning of the twentieth century. On the basis of the chosen vector of research work, the categorical apparatus of the socio-philosophical understanding of expectation was ordered. It is proved that social expectation has many common features with similar projections of the future, which significantly complicates the formulation of its definition. Its main difference is the volitional activity of a person, during which images of the desired future are created and "thrown out" into the external social space, which are comprehended and decomposed in the chronology of time coordinates. The presence of projection processes in social expectation is expressed in an extrapolation mechanism that transfers a person's confidence and readiness to function on the verge of a meaningful present period of social life. The analysis of the etymology of the word "social expectation" led to the identification of its sensory-analytical nature and the orientation of the subject to a clear definition of its place in the social world. The dualistic nature of social expectation is revealed in the mutual penetration of meanings into the picture of the desired future (in the context of the interaction "subject - environment") and the stimulation of volitional activity for its use in social space.

Keywords:sociology, social expectation, the future, the construction of the future, a tool of cognition.
