The particularities of the criminal legal system of Japan second half of the XIX century- first half of the XX century

On the basis of documents of a criminal-legal nature, as well as scientific publications, the article examines the peculiarities of the criminal-legal system of Japan of this period - the time when Japan still continued to borrow Chinese law, but at the same time the path of Europeanization of Japanese law began. One of the results of Europeanization was the adoption in 1880 of the Kei Ho Criminal Code, which was greatly influenced by French law. In 1907, a new Penal Code was adopted, which was influenced by the German school of criminal law. Until the end of the XX century criminal law was based precisely on this code.
