The state, trends and dynamics of crimes committed with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles

Digitalization of many spheres of public life, in particular, has led to the widespread use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Today they are available for purchase and operation not only by state and commercial structures, but also by ordinary citizens. In addition to many advantages, drones carry certain risks and threats caused by their use for criminal purposes. Not only in Russia, but also in many other countries, the number of detected cases of the use of UAVs to commit crimes is growing every year. At the same time, such crimes continue to be a little-studied category of crime. This article attempts to form an author's view of the state, trends and dynamics of crimes committed with the help of drones (quadrocopters, drones) in order to justify the need to develop a special federal program for the prevention of crimes and other offenses, where UAVs act as a means or instrument of committing an illegal act.
