Trends in the administrative activities of units of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate

On the basis of statistical data, a number of trends have been identified related to the implementation of the administrative activities of the State Traffic Safety Inspection units, which are expressed in underestimation of the preventive work of road police officers towards road users, reduction in the number of staff of this category of employees, replacement of the road patrol service inspectors by technical means of photo and video recording, the orientation of road police officers’ activities towards general police functions, including the suppression of administrative offenses which is not directly related to road safety. The analysis of these trends indicates that they make it difficult to achieve positive results in the sphere of road safety and create obstacles in the implementation of the national project “Safe and high-quality highways.”
