Criminal suicide: concept, signs, characteristic features and criminal law characteristics

Human life is the highest value in a civilized society, this explains the purpose of all institutions of modern society, which is expressed in creating conditions for its preservation. The subject of the study are: legal essence, current state, development trends, characteristic patterns, signs inherent in crimes related to acts of suicide, as well as a system for preventing such crimes based on domestic and foreign experience. The purpose of the study is to obtain new information about the concept of criminal suicide, its legal nature, current state, trends, as well as to develop recommendations for the prevention of crimes related to acts of suicide. The methodological basis of the research consists of methods of analysis, analogy, logical deduction and induction, a systematic approach, a structural and functional method, historical-legal, comparative-legal, formal-legal, statistical, survey method, etc. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the article examines the criminal-legal and criminological problems of preventing criminal suicide, taking into account current trends and on the basis of experience in combating this phenomenon. The article reveals the essence of the concept of "criminal suicide", gives the author's definition of the term. The author analyzes the elements of crimes provided for in Articles 110-1102 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, names a number of criminal law problems related to countering criminal suicide that deserve special attention, and also suggests ways to solve them.
