Legal position of the military troops of the NKVD of the USSR in the state-legal mechanism of fighting the fascist-nationalist underground in Ukraine during the Great Patriotic War

The article reveals the concept and content of the state-legal mechanism for the fight against the fascist-nationalist underground, as well as the place and role of the military personnel of the NKVD of the USSR in this mechanism. The analysis of historical documents characterizing the legal status of the military personnel of the NKVD troops in the exercise of their powers to combat the armed fascist-nationalist underground is carried out, materials are examined that testify to the effectiveness of countering the underground by the NKVD troops during the Great Patriotic War.
