PECULIARITIES OF THE APPLICATION OF A PRECAUTIONAL MEASURE IN THE FORM OF HOUSE ARREST IN RESPECT OF PERSONS WITH DRUG ADDICTION

currently, the criminal procedural legislation does not contain any special norm regarding the procedure for bringing to criminal responsibility persons suffering from drug addiction. Nevertheless, drug addiction is one of the main factors influencing the commission of repeated crime by persons who allow non-medical use of drugs, as well as preventing the execution of a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest. House arrest, a preventive measure associated with the execution by a person brought to criminal responsibility of the prohibitions imposed by the court, while in law enforcement practice there are no cases of imposing the obligation to undergo treatment for drug addiction or rehabilitation, which directly affects the real possibility of serving the prescribed preventive measure.
