This article is devoted to the low efficiency of property relations during the period of mass privatization and in the post-privatization period. Privatization in Russia was carried out on the basis of borrowing the institution of ownership from American and Western European economic models. In accordance with the typology of organizational cultures based on the Hofstede’s method such copying is not advisable due to the inconsistency of the typology of organizational cultures of donor countries and the recipient. Property relationships underlying the economic system should have long-term time guidelines. Donor models are based on individualistic values, the Russian model gravitates towards collective relations in society, and therefore in economics. The Russian model has similar characteristics in terms of the individual value index with Eastern and Asian models.
Keywords:privatization, institutional changes, typology of organizational cultures, ownership relations, forms of ownership, economic models
