TOPICAL ISSUES OF DIGITALIZATION IN THE RUSSIAN AGRO-FOOD SYSTEM

The article concerns general issues associated with digitalization processes in the Russian agro-food system. The problems of the introduction of digital technologies into the domestic agro-food system are analyzed, the main critical points associated with the development of telecommunications infrastructure are highlighted and the authorial assessment of its current state is given. The authorial definition of digitalization term is given and the problems of state support for the development of this process are verified. The thesis that the processes of digitalization directly depend on information and communication technologies and computer science, the achievements of which serve as the main driver of scientific and technological progress and the spread of innovative technologies is put forward as a general hypothesis. Research and practice guidelines for the digitalization development in the Russian agro-food system suggested by the authors are listed in the Conclusion.
