This article presents the results of a spring 2023 study of married couples' family values. Family values are different for every family and depend on many factors, such as culture, religion, beliefs, life experiences, and more. For members of today's family, specifically partners, the value of marital communication is coming to the forefront, and the importance of the child-parent relationship is also declining. There is a reorientation of the family from child-centered to spousal-centered.
One of the main factors influencing this situation is the crisis of values, caused by an imbalance of personal, family and social value systems. The increase in the importance of personal values leads to the destruction of society, the disintegration of the family, increasing the importance of hedonistic values and the denial of spiritual values, which contributes to the alienation from society. The imbalance of value systems leads to an existential vacuum and anomie, when there is no stable moral regulation of individual behavior. This has a negative impact on the family, including its destruction, fewer children, celibacy and double career, and has a negative impact on society as a whole
We found that professional values take precedence over personal life criteria and have a great impact on the self-actualization of spouses of all ages. All respondents with different marital experience, prefer specific rather than abstract family values. It is also worth noting that with the increase of family experience there is a change of positions in the groups of values as professional self-actualization: interesting work, financially secure life, social recognition, productive life, and the values of personal life and self-improvement: happy family life, self-confidence, life wisdom.
